Your Journey Begins: Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia’s bustling capital, Kuala Lumpur, is a fascinating mix of old and new. Start your trip at KL Sentral Station, a modern transport hub with shops, restaurants, and even a Hilton Hotel. If you’re traveling Business Class on the ETS Platinum service, relax in the KTM Ruby Lounge before your train departs (be sure to ask for directions, as it can be tricky to find).

Onward We Go!

This remarkable journey has two legs: a comfortable Business Class day train through Malaysia, and a 19-hour overnight sleeper train into Thailand. Malaysia’s ETS Class 93 EMU (nicknamed the “Baby Bullet Train”) offers spacious 2+1 seating, meals, power sockets, and entertainment screens. While not a true high-speed train, it whisks you smoothly through the Malaysian countryside.

At the border, the crossing is easy – complete all formalities before boarding the overnight train. While only offering second-class dormitory-style bunks, Thailand’s sleeper train is a comfortable and unique experience. Recent upgrades make it even better!

Bangkok Bound

Your journey ends at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, Bangkok’s massive and modern rail hub. Even with a slight delay, your arrival is an exciting conclusion to your scenic adventure.
